Getting to Work

Queens commuters from Rego Park to the Rockaways have an interest in what becomes of the former Rockaway Beach Branch rail line.

Considering how residents in community districts 6, 9, 10 and 14 get to work now (see the graph below for a community district comparison of methods of transportation to work), how would a new greenway or a revitalized rail line affect their commute?

CD 6: Forest Hills, Forest Hills Gardens and Rego Park

CD 9: Kew Gardens, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill and Woodhaven

CD 10: Howard Beach, Lindenwood, Old Howard Beach, Ozone Park and South Ozone Park

CD 14: Arverne, Bayswater, Belle Harbor, Breezy Point, Broad Channel, Edgemere, Far Rockaway, Hammels, Mott Creek, Neponsit, Rockaway Park, The Rockaways, Roxbury, Seaside and Somerville
